Tribological properties of polyurethane/epoxy interpenetrating polymer complex

researcher, do you dare to live? The friction and wear behavior of pu/ep IPN composites modified by hydroxyl terminated polydimethylsiloxane (htpdms) under dry sliding conditions was investigated. The results show that the friction and wear properties of pu/ep IPN composites can be greatly improved by adding htpdms. The friction and wear properties of pu/ep IPNs composites modified by htpdms depend on the amount of htpdms. With the increase of the amount of htpdms, the friction coefficient and wear loss of the composites decrease. When the amount of htpdms is 15% and 20%, the advantages and application range of the composite tribological drop weight impact tester can be the best. When the molecular weight and viscosity of htpdms are low, the friction and wear properties of pu/ep IPN composites can be significantly improved

the wear mechanism of unmodified pu/ep IPNs composites before and after modification shows that the wear mechanism of unmodified pu/ep IPNs composites is fatigue wear first, followed by adhesive wear. When the addition of htpdms exceeds 5%, the main wear mechanism is adhesive wear. Therefore, closing some mines and diverting relevant personnel have become the active choice

PDMS has high thermal and oxidation stability and good moisture resistance. In the previous work, researchers found that pu/ep IPNs composites modified by htpdms showed good damping, thermal and mechanical properties and could be used as structural damping materials. The tribological properties and damping properties of the material are equally important. However, there are few studies on the tribological properties of pu/ep IPN composites
